Bright and beautiful, typical Baz L, amazing details, dazzling party scenes with great modern music, and overall pretty faithful to novel. A little more obvious CGI than I would have liked but I got over that. Great (amazing) costumes and hair, and Leo DC was better than Robert Redford in his version. Loved the NY skyline sweeping shots and contrast between the Valley of the Ashes and glitzy 20s energy and colour of Manhattan and Long Island. People who are criticising the screenplay adaptation and the way the characters are played are taking it a bit too far, in my opinion. Daisy is just as shallow as she should be, and I even started liking Tom a bit by the 2/3 point. Don't think too much and you'll love it.
Pros great story, beautiful costumes
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Great job of a Valentines Day follow-up

So let's face it - if we saw Valentines Day, we knew what formula this movie would follow. Lots of individual stories that add up to a finale with all the story links exposed and all the "oh wow - it was her!" moments. So if you expected anything different, you shouldn't have. That's why we loved VD, so that's why you'll enjoy NYE.
This time round, the stories are just as intertwined, and the "oh wow" moments are just as moving. There are a few stand-out performances - Halle Berry, Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer (playing at the top of her character age range) were all really poignant and touching performances with credible expression of lives lifed with regrets and daily pain.
Just go see it. Today.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

This is a great movie - it sucks you in with the easy storyline and gentle humor, and before you know it, you're crying as much as laughing. Moving and thought-provoking.

Last 25 minutes are the funniest. A charming, funny, modern comedy. Great date night movie.

Light hearted, sometimes funny rom-com

Don't watch this expecting Steve Carrell at his energetic, laugh-so-hard-you-snort comedic best - but this sweet little rom-com is funny enough to keep rom-com aficionados and Carrell fans alike smiling for an hour or so. Light, funny and clever, this is a movie I'd watch again.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
