I enjoyed the American version of this movie although it fell short on authenticity of the book. If you haven't read the book, keeping up with the characters and their significance to the plot points may have been confusing. Rooney Mara did an excellent job, as did Daniel Craig who is far more appealing than the actor in the Swedish version. So, after reading the book, seeing the Swedish version and now the American one, all have their distinctive qualitites and styles...and all entertaining. Isn't that the ultimate goal?
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Visual Effects, Production Design, Costumes were excellent; however, the script was poorly written. Even with great acting, the actors could not make it as compelling as it could have been. Sacha Baron Cohen was a real highlight--- his ad libbing stole the movie!
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Not just a chick flick. I went with my boyfriend and another couple and we all laughed our heads off. The dialogue was true to women today and the acting was spot on and included humorous nuances not ordinarily seen in movies of this genre.
