Fantastice performances by Michael Fassbender and Carey Mulligan.
Interesting screenplay. Wonderful photography. Superior direction.
What more do you want from a movie?
Not for everyone, but for those who appreciate a realistic film on the order of Midnight Cowboy, it is a must see. To me Shame ranks right up there with The Artist and The Descendants as the best film of 2011.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Finally, I liked Clooney

One of the best written and directed films of 2011. Usually I don't like George Clooney, but here he was excellent. A sad film, but an ultimately uplifting one. I highly recommend it to all audiences ages 16+. You learn alot about life, death and just plain living. Could another Oscar be in George's future? Maybe.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Where did all the Mystery Go

This film is nowhere near the conception that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle has of the master detective Sherlock Holmes. It is a Jackie Chan movie crossed with artsy photography and mumbo jumbo philosophies and psychology. I like my Sherlock Holmes more like Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce. Also, I look foward to a good mystery. Here I was disappointed.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

See the Swedish version second.
See this Hollywwod version third.
Well done, but nowhere near as gritty and provocative as the book and foreign version.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
