Excellent Movie. Gives an abbreviated view of the challenges and injustice experienced by African American pilots of that era. However, above the bigotry and injustice, the movie provides outstanding examples of courage and leadership. This is a must see movie that ALL Americans will enjoy.
I had high hopes for this movie before viewing - it is, a decent movie, but some of the scenes were quite frankly, not very believable. While I certainly don't know anything about the nature of wolf behavior, the animals in the movie were simply not believable. In addition, the likeness of the animals was too "computer" generated - appeared "fake" with regard to how the animals moved during the movie, especially during the attack scenes.
I have seen some of Liam Neeson's "action" films over the last few years and really like him in these types of roles. In fact, he did an excellent job trying to save this movies and script, but the bottom line, the script, special effects and other actors in the movie is why this movie is average - in my opinion.
Quite disappointing! Poor script, average fight scenes and the movie plot was extremely weak. Oh, and the movie ending was simply bad! Don't waste your time and money.......
After reading a view reviews, I was skeptical about going to see this movie. However, I was pleasantly surprised. While this movie is NOT on the level of 300, it had some great fight scenes, in particular, the scene when the GODS descend down to earth to do battle with the titans - pretty awesome! I would, however, agree with some comments from others critiquing this movie, the story line could have been much better. Mickey O was great and really carried most of the movie. I would recommend this movie for a pretty good (not great) movie experience.
The civil rights era was a time of despair and great triumph for African Americans. The Help captures this era in American history in a way, which conveys to the audience that even in a time of social injustice, there are people who display incredible courage and conviction for doing the "right" thing, regardless of the social or personal risk to one self. This movie was both powerful and inspirational.
