Zeppelin Flies Again!

Despite their advanced age, the raw power of the mighty LED ZEPPELIN was on full display in this one-off concert performed in London five years ago. The three original living members were joined by the late John Bonham's son, Jason, for a two hour romp through some of Zep's classic tunes. Jason channeled his father's spirit and you could feel John's presence there. At the end of the show when Page, Plant, and Jones all turned, smiling from ear to ear, to watch Jason pound out the last few beats of "Rock 'n' Roll", they saw John there too!
Plant's voice was outstanding. He may have tempered it a bit so as not to strain for the really high screams he once hit, but the emotion was still the same.
Page, healthier than I've ever seen him, blazed away on every song. Zeppelin was always different live than on record because they never brought in additional musicians to augment the sound, just the four rockers deeply in tune to each other, improvising at times as the moment struck.
John Paul Jones was the cherry on top! Having seen Zeppelin a few times back in the day and seeing Page/ Plant on two tours without JPJ, I can tell you his presence was what really put it over the top. His fluid bass lines and haunting keyboards dominated quietly behind Page's guitar assaults.
I will own this dvd the day it comes out!
As for seeing it in a movie theater with a room full of Zep-heads, FAN tastic! When the movie first started the house lights remained on and the sound was WAY too low for the first song and a half. Then people, I started it, began yelling "Lights off ---sound up", over and over. Then we chanted "start it over" which is exactly what they did, to the joy of everyone there. "Thank You".
Yes, I recommend this movie.
