I've always loved this series, I think it's an exciting, fun movie to watch. No it will not win any Grammy Awards, but it's a blast to go see. Excellent cast, insane camera sequences for all the action going on. Found it also to have quite a bit of humor involved, which really goes well to balancing out the serious parts of the movie. Can't get over all the extreme cars being used, incredible special effects. Definitely go see it if you're looking to just relax, have fun watching from beginning to end action with a pretty decent story line and twist.
Pros well paced, great actors
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Much better. I love the story as it follows from what I know from the games pretty well. I would have given this a 4 star rating only if it had been a bit more catching, drawing me in, pull me to the edge effect in the scenes that really should have done so. Also there were a lot of anti-climatic moments that I felt could have been a lot better. The carousel scene is one of those. I don't wish to put too much detail into this as I don't want to spoil the movie for those who haven't seen it yet.
Again, I liked the movie, I just felt it lacked in a few key parts that would have really sent this over. It's a lot on the direction of the movie more so than anything. Also, I had to go see this in 3D, let me say, it'd been just fine in 2D, none of the movies coming out in 3D are all that impressive with the 3D part of it. The flurries coming off the screen now and then were the only parts that even remotely had much of an effect.
I come from the old school of 3D, Terminator 3D, Jaws 3D, Amityville Horror 3D, Friday the 13th 3D, etc..... The one that sticks out the most was Terminator 3 in 3D however, because things really did jump off of the screen and make you feel like you needed to duck. Today they film a scene here, scene there in 3D, while the rest of the movie is shot in 2D, there is the major difference. The other is that they're mainly doing it for atmospheric and while that's nice and all, it doesn't really work on a semi-flat wide screen. That would be better on a circular, dome like screen setting, so that it would surround you and pull you into the scene.
Anyway, back to the movie itself. I never got to see the first one, friend of mine is nagging me to see that one. So this review is completely unbiased. As I am a big time Horror Movie buff, but I haven't even played the games themselves. So this is strictly my feeling on this as a movie not a tie-in to anything.
The actors seemed to be very genuine, believable for the most part. There were a couple of scenes I felt were a bit rushed or lack of emotion. All movies can have a spot or two of this, it by far didn't ruin my enjoying the movie though. So over all I'm giving it 3 stars and saying it is worth seeing, just don't do the 3D if you can keep from it. That was just not worth the price at all....
Pros well paced, great story, great actors
Cons 3d needs a lot more thought!, some scenes needed better development.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I'm very fond of the original series so I guess I'm a tad spoiled there. I found this movie to be well done, story was good, action sequences mostly were not bad. What I found a bit lacking was the emotional state of the actors weren't as real feeling as they were in the original.
Like for instance, Spiderman's comical attitude was not as believable as it was with Tobey. I felt he captured the essence of Spidey a lot better. Also felt that there was just a lot missing in the story to me, but this story line was set completely different. Now I'm not going to compare it to the Comics as I personally can't remember all those details, it's been far too long for me to remember that.
The relationships with different characters seemed rather rushed too, but again, it's not horrible by no means. We've seen horrible with other movies that failed with character development. I'm huge on this aspect of a movie, I find a lot of movies lately are getting away from how the different character roles the actors take on develop. Typically they're very rushed it seems. Especially in movies where you have too many things happening at once ( Multiple Story Lines clashing basically ).
This one starts out rather slow, but once it does start to progress it's does quite well. One of the other things that kind of set off my alarms, was the lack of Peter's geeky side. While it was shown with him working on the gadgets for his web slinging, it wasn't shown hardly at all in his personality.
Now with all this said, yes I did like the movie and I do recommend people see it. It's a good action hero movie, but compared to the likes of the previous series and others that have done wonderful jobs ( The Avengers! ) this one comes up just a tad short. Lets hope it betters the second time around!
Pros decent story, great animation, story setting
Cons slow, lack of character development, acting was decent
Yes, I recommend this movie.
