May not satisfy hardcore Superman fans who strictly want things exactly as they were in the past comics, and also may lose non-comic fan movie goers with too much action and a longer than average superhero film. However, despite being a bit too long and losing some in the lengthy action sequences, the movie delivers what the character has been in need of. A great origin story, setting up our next big superhero franchise from the DC side. Just wish they would have cut some of the action for the sake of your average movie audience and may have wanted to further explain the phantom zone, as it is an essential part of the movie, but is never explained to the audience.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, menancing villain, satisfying conclusion
Cons lengthy action may lose some, story may become confusing with the phantom zone, movie is a bit too long for its own good

Dredd, 1.5 hrs of violent comic action, must see for fans of the comics. However, a typical movie goer will easily be turned off by the simple story, and lack of character depth. If I did not know the character Judge Dredd, I would probably consider this an all around bad movie.
Pros well paced, great actors, dredd never removes his helmet
Cons not for non action or comic fans
