Definitely loved this movie in 3D on the big screen. This is NOT a remake of the classic. Rather it is a different story with some familiar characters. Just enough special effects to enhance rather than detract from the story. The sets were deliciously colorful. Just like the original, there are those scary monkeys and some violence that little ones might not do well with, but Seniors on down to school-aged kids can enjoy this. Makes me want to read the other Frank Baum "OZ" books! :)
Pros well paced, great story, great actors
Yes, I recommend this movie.

The story development prior to leaving for the planet could have been expanded, esp. the story of Prometheus. If you like action, gore and predictable plots--see it. The 3D was pretty good, but I would have been OK with regular flick. The hype wasn't fulfilled, unfortunately. Could have been so much better.
