A visual experience!

Some what of a weak story line. It 's been done before. sort of a Dancing with Wolves flair. However, the visuals are breath taking. This movie takes movie making to a completely new direction. The 3D is stunning! Clearly the bar has been raised by this film. 3 words EX-CEL-LENT!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Fortunately or unfortunaly I am familiar with the original movie. So I had higher expectations than most. I was not impressed with this modern day version. I love sci-fi but this re-make missed the mark. The little kid got on my nerves, the obvious biblical references were just that...to obvious and the benevolent alien/God theme did not work for me. The movie gives a new meaning to a "Green" Alien life form. As I see it they could have done a much better job of staying with the original movie with added 2008 "stuff". It is interesting that Gort's name was an acronym in the 2008 version.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
