Simply put, this is one bad ass movie. It's hard core from beginning to end, no cheesy effects or suspension of disbelief here, just raw Man vs Wild. It's one extremely unfortunately situation after another, and a group of tough men battling physical and mental deterioration along the fateful journey... oh and a pack of really pissed off wolves. Don't listen to the hater reviews, this film will have you holding your breath and clenching your fists at times, it is that intense. I only had a few minimal gripes with this one, otherwise I'd have given it 5 stars, but nothing that keeps it from being a spectacular film worth seeing again.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

A bloody good time full of laughs

A highly entertaining remake of one of my favorite horror / comedies from the 80s that used to scare the crap out of me as a kid. While this one is far from similar to the original, especially during the first 20 minutes or so, it pays homage at the right times, and while kind of slow at first, once it gets going it is full of laughs, memorable characters (especially Farrell who is terrific), and even a great cameo that will get a cheer from the die hard Fright Night fans. I saw this movie with my wife, who hates horror films, and even she told me she thought it was a great time. Definitely a good remake to check out for the vampire / horror genre fans. Oh, and the fact that they mocked the "Twilight" series in one scene forced me to give this one two big thumbs up! :)
