This is not typical Hollywood big budget fare. RUN, and see this on a big screen. This was a serious film with amazing visuals that was far better than expected. Great cast, great original story with twists and unexpected turns. Charlie was fantastic! I would love to see sequels of this! DO NOT WAIT FOR BLU-RAY, see this in theater! Excellent film!
Pros great story, great actors, visuals
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I loved this movie. It is just what a fun, summer movie should be. It was fast paced, had lots of action, outstanding special effects and a great cast. Taylor was excellent as Hopper who learns to grow up and forges a bond with his nemesis Nigata. Thor fans, you should recognize Nigata as Hogun one of the Warriors 3 who fought with Thor.Rhianna was bad-ass as a Navy gunner. I loved the scenes on the Navy ships that really gave you a sense of what happens on warships. What sets this film apart for me was the wounded warrior Mick, and real life WWII vets who help save the world. We don't often see "real" people like them in action films and it is a stirring tribute to our veterans, active duty, wounded warriors and retired vets. I've seen this 6 times and still enjoy it!
Pros well paced, great actors, tribute to vets, great action, strong female roles, diverse cast
Ryan Reynolds was a perfect Hal Jordan. He had a nice mix of humor and likeability. The origin of the Lantern Corps was interesting and the effects were great. While it was a good film, I felt it could have been better. The Lanterns were supposed to stick together, but Hal had to save Earth on his own. A good movie, though not as good at Thor. I will be looking forward to the sequel.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

This was the prequel to the X-Men trilogy. It was overly long and complicated. While the back story of Magneto & Professor X was somewhat interesting, it wasn't fun. Wolverine's origins was much better. Not as good as the prior films.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Action with a Human Story

I really enjoyed this film. Director Branaugh used his Shakespeare roots to keep the human element a strong basis in the story. While there is a great deal of action, you feel for the characters, especially the Asgard family sections. The fight scenes are excellent. I love the creative uses of Thor's hammer. Chris Hemsworth is definitely an incredible leading man. I look forward to seeing more Thor!
