Speed Racer Has No Soul

The world of Speed Racer, meaning the effects and colors and craaaazy races are worth seeing on a big screen. However, the rest of the film is trash. The story is convoluted and tries way too hard. There is no sense of tension or danger. If you want to see shiny pretty things, by all means fork over your hard earned money to see this thing. If you want to care about a story and love/hate the characters, go support Iron Man. That film is about characters and is SUPPORTED by effects, whereas Speed Racer is only cashing in on wild visuals. A huge disappointment.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
