We were entertained, and Cedar Rapids held our attention. It was straight forward ... sometimes you need a movie that doesn't make you think too much. John C. Reilly pretty much carried the whole movie, but the other characters were solid as well.
Of the three Toy Story movies, this one managed to improve upon perfection! It was awesome in every way ........... great animation, laughter, tears, subtle messages! I would recommend this to everyone! I want to see it again at least twice ........ once in 3D, once in IMAX. What a J O Y !
Jeff Bridges was phenominal and Robert Duvall was solid. Maggie Gyllenhal's casting opposite Jeff Bridges was too improbable mostly due to the age difference. Their relationship was too hurried as was Bridges' stint in rehab. Now I want to read the book where these story lines can be more fully developed!
Sometimes you just want to be entertained ..... a movie where you don't have to think too much or over analyze. This movie laid it all out there -- it was humorous, sweet, tough. Ellen Page was extremely good, and Drew Barrymore did an excellent job as a 1st time director.
This is an excellent movie for sheer entertainment. It was both funny and sad, and it kept your interest and piqued your curiosity every step of the way. I was amused that the Hero looked like Spencer Tracy and the villain looked like Kirk Douglas ... very creative!
This movie is so refreshing and entertaining! It is one of the first movies to come out of Tinseltown in a long time that has not found it necessary to resort to special effects, "over the top'ness' ", etc. A shining example of how a pet truly becomes one of the family!
Very well acted! I was a bit surprised ..... it seems like anything having Mel Brooks' touch is over the top, with punchlines beaten into the ground ..... but this one was just right! Steve Carrell and Anne Hathaway were a very pleasant match!
