My 10 year-old liked it, but even then he only ha-ha laughed twice. He also mentioned that it was very much like the book and only had a couple of things that weren't in the book. Clearly, my going-in impression of the movie and the books were correct: they're wimpy. I'm glad that only one of my wife and I having had to endure it, and I'm glad that I have the extra $10 to go see something good. Next stop, Johnny Depp and "Alice"!
No, I do not recommend this movie.
