Incredible acting by the leads. Completely believable as to how a great passion goes wrong. Beautifully directed to reveal the utmost character development.
Amazing special effects and compelling concept. Yet the characters just didn't resonate emotionally. I wanted to care about Cobb's issues but just didn't. Visually captivating.
A complete set-up for the sequels. Dark and dreary. Never in doubt that the main characters would survive, no matter how implausible. Robert Downey, Jr. and Jude Law are favorites, which made this even more of a shame - Rachel McAdams was over matched and badly cast. The actress who played the fiance had some bad advice about silicone in her top lip.
I prefer the Basil Rathbone series, although the Watson character was infinitely more believable and interesting in Ritchie's version.
