A beautifully shot and crafted film that explores the paradox of India (beauty juxtaposed against squalor) through the eyes of several retirees who have fallen on hard times. Fantastic acting from an ensemble cast at the top of its game, and many moments of intense humor as well as quiet contemplation. We loved this film and want to book a trip to India ourselves.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors

Tour de force performances from all concerned in this tale of family heartbreak and redemption. Be sure to stay for the titles where you can see just how closely Christian Bale and Mark Wahlberg resemble the real-life stars of this amazing tale.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

From all concerned. But shameful overbilling for Josh Brolin, who appears for only a few minutes at the end - what about the wonderful new actress who plays Mattie, who basically carries the show?
Yes, I recommend this movie.

This is a superbly acted and directed film. Every performance is a gem and the story highlights the complications of modern family life. And lest one worries that the subject matter might make it a chick flick only, my retired mililary husband loved it too. Definitely worth seeing.
I loved this - point perfect performances from all of the actors, and especially Clooney. I travel a lot for business myself and got a kick out of the quest for the next frequent flyer mile. However, my husband, who usually shares my tastes, really hated it. I could sense him squirming right from the start and by the end he was barely speaking to me.
Excellent performances by Cruise and a well-picked ensemble cast underscored the moral anguish of a terrible time. Bill Nighy continues to prove his versatility in the role of a loyal yet terrified soldier placed in a horrible position that tested his courage. A shame we did not see more of the wonderful Kenneth Branaugh. Overall, an outstanding pick.
