Quantum was an excellent movie... however, not a bond film in the true sense of the style. Casino Royale made a better prequal start, links with historic Bond quips and wit with action and suspense like Bond of the past. Quantum however, seemed to be the cousin of Borne Ultimatum, with the director setting a revengeful young bond against an evil mystery organisation.
Although I thought this was a great movie, with loads of action and exotic destinations... it lacked chemestry between Bond and 'the bond girl'. The director had edited out any bond charm, and replaced it with comments from M implying he had tons of charm (I guess we just didn't have enough time in the 1hr 45mins to see the charm and action... so only got action?).
R rated and 2.5 hours... action packed and geared towards the mature audience. This has to be by far the best 'comic book' movie yet made. Cross over from super spy - super hero to moody thriller / horror flick. A definite go see on the big screen!
