Two thumbs way up. It absolutely met or exceeded our expectations in every way.
Non-spoiler comments: Cate Blanchett will always be the perfect Galadriel in my mind. Gandalf is a frickin' stud. Martin Freeman was a inspired choice for Bilbo. I may have a man-crush on Thorin ::smirks::
Pros well paced, great story, great actors

Often times, screen writing will suck the soul out of a novel adaptation. It is telling in this case that Suzanne Collins was a big part of the screen writing team - she made sure that the essence of her novel made it to the screen, and did not get left on the cutting room floor (or in the modern world, deleted off the production drive...)
Jennifer Lawrence was more than up to the task of riveting the audience as the lead. Casting all-around was spot-on.
A thoroughly enjoyable movie for me.

A fitting conclusion to an epic series

Generally, when one book is split into two movies, I cynically assume that it is the 'search for more money' as referenced in Spaceballs. Having now seen HP7, it was absolutely the right choice - there is no possible way they could have got everything into one movie without hacking it all to pieces.
Must see in the theater, and if you have the means, by all means do IMAX it!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Tron Legacy does a good job of following up on the original movie. The graphics were, as expected, top-notch.
More interesting to me was the things they chose to do without CG for this movie - the lighting on the suits for example: in the first movie, it was CG, while in this movie it was actual flexible lighting built into the costumes - an interesting and innovative choice!
The Jeff Bridges CG clone didn't quite jump the uncanny valley yet, but it was pretty close. The eyes were *much* better - the face still felt a bit too wooden for me. Of course, considering that the character was in fact supposed to be a program, in this case it might even be better that way...
The inside jokes (Big Lebowski, Wargames, Mattel Football) were nice touches for the geeks in the crowd.
Sure, it was a bit formulaic, but it was one heck of a ride!
