The Human Adventure begins again...

I have been beyond excited about this new start to the Trek universe since I saw the first teaser. The movie lived up to my every expectation and exceeded them. It's perfectly cast from top to bottom, and every character gets their moment to shine. The special effects are seamless and gorgeous, and oh, the new Enterprise is a lady to behold. The orchestral score is glorious, and I was stunned by the use of just music over some great action scenes...and sometimes the use of only silence. I am a deeply devoted Trek fan from way back, and I thought the new film was perfectly reverential to the original while finding a way to be a unique re-boot of the series. I found myself tearing up out of sheer joy more than a few times.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
