Clearly a great movie role for Rourke and well done from an acting perspective. It's a sad and touching tale for sure. Personally, not being of fan of the sport or of stripper bars, it lost something along the way for me. Was a bit too bloody for my tastes. I can see how Aronsofsk has received such acclaim, but this reiewer it was just hard to watch.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

I just loved this movie. A bit contrived and predictable, but It's been a long time since I've enjoyed a movie this much.
