This was a "character" movie that captures and holds your attention throughout. Humor, pathos, drama - it's all there, beautifully and accurately presented. A wonderful film!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I went with my young adult children and a 9 yr old. They liked it....I enjoyed the cat naps I fell into throughout. It's got it's moments - the young cast is definitely worth watching, and the opening sequence is cool, but it's like a combo of The Big Lebowski meets Reboot (Cdn. cgi) meets Star Wars (I'm sorry, that chase sequence was merely x-wing fighters with cool light effects). I wanted to like it, but just can't.......even the cool effects can't save it.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

My husband, the John Wayne fanatic went to True Grit while I went to a different movie with the kids. He had his reservations going in (messing with the Duke is risky), but came out with nothing but praise for the cast and the whole film. Definitely worth a repeat visit so I can see it!
