Do not be afraid to bring your children to this movie because there is very limited bad language, and not anything children 10 and above have not heard. You may want to discuss the use of some F-words and S-words in the context of the speech/emotional therapy sessions, but those scenes are very brief. The movie is quite involving, but you'll want to be able to explain a bit about the King/Queen of England being both the head of state and head of the Church of England; thus, King Edward could not marry a divorced woman. Lots of quiet, human humor in the movie as well as impeccable performances by all actors. There are three actors in this film who were also in the 1995 Jane Austen classic film "Pride and Prejudice." In sum, if you have a thoughtful child, do have them see the King's Speech, despite the R rating. One piece of advice - our X-mas Eve show was sold out, so purchase your tickets online ahead of time!
