This movie was great! The 2.5 hours just flew by. There was only one sceen that I felt could have been shortened - when they are running in the woods. I was worried that, since it was part 1, I would be left somewhat unfulfilled. That was not the case for mysel nor my dad. I read the book and he didn't and we both thought this movie was OUTSTANDING start to finish!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
