The topic was thoughtfully addressed, with humor, sympathy, and respect. Early reviews made me want to see the film, and I was not disappointed. This could have been either ludicrous or maudlin. It was neither--although someone should have warned me to bring a few tissues. I found myself experiencing a full range of emotions. As noted by another reviewer, the audience was clapping at the end of the movie. This felt like a very sympathetic and respectful telling of King George VI's efforts to overcome his personal problem at a time when this mattered so much for his nation.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
