For me, too much was left out. But it always is. There are so many incrediable details in the writing that give it all so much more depth and understanding. Without which it looses it's connectivity, history and meaning. Perhaps this is what comes from having read all the books numerous times. Her details are so well thought out it took a number of times for it all to really connect. I have a few friends who never read the books or read a few. When we watch the movies we pause quit a bit so I can explain things that don't make sense for them. I wonder for all those folks out there who do not have the history of say Voldermorts childhood the way it goes into detail of his mother's beginnings & what she went thru in life and how he ended up in the orphanage. The ring in the family history. So much is not really gotten into in the movies. Yet to see them on the screen is not to be missed. I am grateful they made the films. They have all grown in their acting and cohesiveness that really makes the movie. It was so fast, with a bit more detail and a little lingering it would have added a lot for me. Look at Lord of the Rings. They and Potter are epic works of art and deserve the time. I would sit in a three hour Potter movie to have more of the details. Bring it on. A lot to savor before July.
