I'm an adult and went with my daughter. This review may help other parents in deciding if you want to bring your kids. This movie proves that you can have it all without harsh language, gorry violence, and constant s*x. With all the prior hype that this was the 'darkest movie in the series', I was a bit worried that I come out of the theater all kinds of depressed. But not so. Yes, the content has grown up along with the Hogwarts kids. There are battles with the bad guys and the kids certainly hold their own. There are parts that make you jump out of your seat. There is a scene or two that is pretty harsh, torturous. However, the movie is classy enough not to show everything on screen. It has a ton of comic relief. Again, with all the prior hype of 'darkness' , I was very happy that this part of what we have come to know as HP was not lost. There is one scene that is rather quick, but a little risque. **Spoiler Alert** It has been well documented in the news, I'm not going to completely spoil it, but if you have young kids (7 or so), you may want to shield their eyes for a second or two when Ron is hallucinating that Harry & Hermione don't want him around. **End of spoiler alert**
I absolutely loved this movie. I was "wowed" by it. It had fear, tears, laughter through our tears, and sweet, tender moments. Stunning scenery and effects. Our young characters have grown up so beautifully and the young actors have done them an incredible justice. Jo Rowling has transitioned them brilliantly. It ended at a good place in the story. It's obviously a cliff hanger, but one we can live with until July 2011. Then again, I'm sure most of us have read the book and know the ending.
I'm sure I will see it a couple of more times before it goes to dvd!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
