nice version of the classic story

this was a good retelling of the classic story and closer to the original story than the disney-fied animated movie we all know so well. The art and effects were great but the cast was not at their best and the only movie tried to play on the popularity of the twilight series rather than quality acting (which is also lackluster in that series). The effects of the dwarves was really good, still not sure what movie magic pulled that off, and in general it was entertaining without too many holes in the story. no pros, no cons, just mindless entertainment.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Great job with a new movie and new cast without distancing in anyway from the past three fantastic movies. Congrats to Stan Lee and Marvel Studios!

Like all the other Ridley Scott epics, this movie will leave you with more questions than answers but you will be thinking. This is not a mindless summer sci-fi thriller. I recommend this to anyone who truly enjoys intelligent science fiction
