Eh - great effects....

As a story, it was mildly interesting. The special effects are definitely the star of the show. The characters were OK - not particularly engaging. The science behind it is as ridiculous as DAY AFTER TOMORROW. Writing is so often underemphasized in movies. This movie will do fine, but it would be STAR WARS kind of successful if the producers had said, "let's get a really good writer!"

I may be going overboard by giving this movie three stars. But I was really impressed by the acting, particularly by Isabelle Fuhrman, who played the orphan. I think she will be a very successful child actor, maybe even as an adult as well. The girl who played the parents' natural daughter did a great job as well, and was cute as a button.
I have read reviews that parts of the movie were laughable, and I agree. Mainly because of the disturbing things that you see this oprhan girl doing, which Isabelle pulled off brilliantly.
This is one of those movies that starts off great, and moves along very well, but starts making no sense one you get toward the end.
But I still recomend it.

Very good and different flick. Very eccentric con man movie. As a guy, I have to say I have had a crush on Rachel Weisz, and this movie does her justice with a cute, quirky role. I had not been happy with her perfomances in the past when she used an American accent, but she has now mastered it. Great job by Adrien Brody. Mark Ruffalo is good as usual. The Asian chick (Rinko Kikuchi, I take it) is funny. Interesting ending, but somewhat unsettling. Still, definitely one of the best current flicks out there.

Every single actor is great! It stuck well to Trek lore! I didn't realise how well I knew Trek history until I explained much of it to my friend, who keep asking questions about how everything connected. I can't wait till the sequel!
And I hope Chris Pine gets cast as GREEN LANTERN!

Great series with Daniel Craig

This movie has great action, just like a Bond movie should. But what sets this movie and CASINO ROYALE apart from the others is that the characters are real and interesting. Great acting by Craig and Dame Judy, and memorable scenes between them, even though they were brief. I've always been a Sean Connery fan, but Craig is making a push to be the best Bond ever. Can't wait for the follow up.

It was nice to see Indiana Jones again, as well as his girlfriend from the first movie played by Karen Allen. Harrison Ford wasn't as stiff as he's been in movies lately. Good work from the "newbies", like Cate Blanchett and Shia LaBeouf. Good action. Very neat theme based on certain goings on in the 50's. I actually liked it better than the 2nd and 3rd movie. Not necessarily a great movie, but an enjoyable one, especially for Indian Jones fans.
