This is just about the worst movie I've ever seen. There were parts of the movie where the camera was obviously a handheld, the motion making me sick to my stomach. The rest of it was just ridiculous. No plot whatsoever and the ending was just dumb. A bunch of people rolling around in goo and the aliens sucking out people's brains. I want my $10 back!
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Good movie, but Part 2 will be much better

For anyone who's read the books, you will enjoy this movie. I like the 2nd half of the book better because its got a lot more action. The first half, while important for the story, is a little boring and drawn out. For anyone who hasn't read the books, you probably won't like this movie (the friends that came with me that hadn't read it didn't like it).
I give it 4 stars because it was a good movie, but I know the 2nd part will be so much better ;)
Yes, I recommend this movie.
