Better than I expected.

I've always been frustrated with movies that were made from books, but this one turned out fantastic. Sure there were scenes I wish they would have put in and a couple they should have left out (the dancing scene, really?)
The decision to split the story into two movies turns out to be a good thing with this one. While I'm sure that money entered the equation, having two movies has given Hollywood a chance to tell the full story. For the most part they have succeeded.
I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this movie. Of course I am an avid Harry Potter fan. I can see how someone who has not read the book could be very easily confused or could walk away not impressed.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
