Read many of the early reviews, and was prepared to be disappointed again, ala "Half-Blood Prince". Surprised by the intensity, complexity, quality of acting, mood, and bits of humor that were just enough to keep it from being dour. Even the actors in the bit roles put in great efforts. Reviewers complaining that some parts are "slow", as if the whole movie should be one long CG action sequence, are missing the point - the interaction between the characters is one of the best aspects of watching this movie. These are characters in dire straits, fighting for their lives, and they make you believe it.
Very satisfied, may go see it again, and will buy the DVD even though they'll probably combine parts 1 & 2 down the road.
