It is not often that you get to watch a live performance of a Broadway show in the movie theater.I was blown away right from the start.I enjoyed the movie and have watched it numerous. I only saw the actual performance once. Can’t complain as I was in the front row. The live film was just as awesome and in some ways better. You were able to watch a performance through somebody else’s eyes. The director captured the raw emotion that you can only find in theater. Movie actors don't have that. You can only get that from a certain level of Broadway actors. You find the so moving that 90% of the viewers would applaud at the end of songs. Bring your children it opens dialogue.
So go see this performance before its gone.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I went in to see this film thinking, "Can it live up to the hype?", "Ledger's death, wow what a marketing tool that is." and "Do I have to sit in the second row again?".
Well, to all three of those questions the answer is a resounding "YES!!!" Good thing I bought my tickets on-line cause I would have never got in. But I got second row 2 nights in a row.
This movie lived up to the hype, from the no-credit beginning till the Movie title ending. Heath Ledger was a great Joker and thank god you couldnt tell it was him. Now we can have the joker in another Batman film, even in Ledgers death.
I will not review this movie explaining parts of the film. I will just say that if you are over 13 and you have not seen it, you should. One other thing moms and dads (and parents that just use those terms) this is not a film for children. It is violent, scary and any grounded child should have nightmares of homicidal, socialpaths murdering them and laughing at them in their sleep. Just got back from seeing it a second time tonight and some (loosely used term) parents had there 2 and 3 year old kids there. They were terified, but its ok mommy and daddy just told them to sit there and shut up so all is well.
I do not believe that Heath Ledger should posthumorously win an Oscar or even be nominated, after all this is a Batman movie and if he was alive they wouldnt even be looking at it.
So take 2 1/2 hours of your life and check this out and if your lucky you will see the trailer for Watchmen and that looks like it shouldnt be missed either.
"How about a magic trick?"
Yes, I recommend this movie.
