I am very fond of the Harry Potter books and have read them aloud to my children. I am doing so a second time my youngest.
The books are rich with details and far too long to be easy fodder for screen writers. I think this film did a very admirable job of capturing the heart of the story and the charecters, though much had to be left out.
The graphics and cinematography were quite fine. The actors seemed to strongly reflect the emotional state of the charecters described in the book, even where the book's description might have been a bit hard to grasp or the charecter's mindset was opaque.
Overall, fun, visaully appealing, true to a beloved story: highest marks!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
