Even though the movie was pushed towards the young and old, and the relationship the husband and wife pulled on your heart strings, in totality, it was difficult to remain interested in the movie. You knew that hey would run across the old explorer and that there would be a twist to that meeting. The true impact of a child's movie is whether or not my daughters request that I purchase the movie as soon as it comes out on DVD. Mine did not and I will not.
My wife and I took our three daughters (10, 6 & 3) to see Fly Me to The Moon 3-D. It took a little while to adjust to the 3-D glasses, but it was excellently done. The storyline was okay, but easy for the kids to follow. The message and morale of the story was good for the kids. A bit slow at times, which did not hold the kids' attention, but overall it was worth it (just not the price $$$).
This is a movie that my daughters were dying to see and at the end, they were dying to stay awake (my wife went to sleep). It reminded me of the Saturday morning Karate flicks that I watched as a kid. Good message at the end, unfortunately, many may miss it.
