I didn’t know this series growing up, I’m too young for that. But I know of it now that I’m older and was rather fond of it. This movie left me disappointed. It was stupid, but funny. I guess it wasn’t bad. Kato was awesome; think it was worth the money just to see him in action. We saw it in the IMAX 3d and it was impressive, I recommend seeing it that way. It makes up for other faults, but only in a matinee. It did keep your attention with the action scenes, but was defiantly lacking in story. But I suppose you can’t always get what you want, just like the Rolling Stones said. All in all 2 of five stars, if that.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

ok, so hubby and i are HUGE fans of the first one. i'll never deny that. we had very high hopes going into this one. and in all honesty i was expecting to leave dissapointed. that SO didn't happen.
ok, fine, so not all of it was in 3D, boo ho. get over it. the plot was good (especially for a disney flick). yes it was corney here and there, so was the first one. the graphics were AWESOME. the music was even better.
the simple fact Bridges came back to play Flynn again was reson enough for me to go see it. he didn't dissapoint me in the least. the same old flynn was there if you pay attention. the work with the CG was wonderful. and if you want to get right down to it, they finally had the ability to take this movie to where it was meant to go. they needed the tech we have today to give real life to the world of Tron.
two thumbs WAY WAY up!! and be sure to go early in the day. less people!

Overall, I was happy with the movie. They didn’t butcher it horribly, as others have done in the past. There were a few things I would have liked to have seen, but you can’t always get what you want, according to the rolling stones. Watching this I was reminded again at how young all these players were at the start. Seeing them now is a real treat. As always the three leads have a wonderful chemistry between them. Hubby and I are looking forward to the next one with great expectation.
