A pleasant suprise!

I was scared that this movie would be another franchise from my youth destroyed by Hollywood. The story lacke realism, but, hey, it's GI JOE! The action was awesome and brought some different perspectives to some classic characters.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

No "Salvation" For This Movie

The plot of the story lacks any surprises or any other polish. The movie suffers from a lack of good writing. While James Cameron weaves character development with a sound plot, McG seems to be just showing off special effects. I would wait for this one to come to ONDEMAND; don't even buy the DVD.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Cheaters never win!

Unless you are James Tiberius Kirk that is! While the action was breathtaking, the movie was a bit short on plot. Really, another Star Trek movie that uses time travel to explain everything? I have seen every Star Trek movie and I am fine with the "changes" made to the series; they breathe new life into the franchise. However, I think the writers could have done a better job plot wise.
Now that I am done ranting, lets talk about how great this movie is. While the plot was lacking, the character development made me care about this series again. Kirk and Spock's relationship shows a true bond, and I can't wait to see the sequel to see how this plays. The writers did a great job with the dialogue.
