This new Tron movie does the original justice and really brings it up to date!
The sound track is amazing and fits the movie perfectly I fully intend on purchasing it. The visuals and 3D were wonderful. Myself and others in my group actually felt it was better done and prettier than Avatar because there are a lot fewer visual distractions. The 3D Imax experience is totally worth the cost.
The story was arguably the weakest part to this, it's not bad by any stretch and has decent pacing. It is a touch shallow but it follows the original very well and makes for a fantastic follow up that can stand totally on its own.
Will most likely be seeing this at least once more thin theaters!
For starters the usage of 3D in the movie was fantastic. For the most part it was all depth of field and not woooo look we can put stuff in front of you and make things fuzzy. The animation was just superb! The story was of course geared towards children but per normal Dreamworks manages to get adult humor in to the writing as well.
Kung Fu panda had been my favorite animated flick but in one showing How to Train Your Dragon completely usurped its position.
Qos is a fantastic follow up to CR. Yes these movies are more of a James Bond reboot and as such do change focus just a bit.
The story does pick up just after CR ended, but that's is what makes it so good, it provides a continuity to the Bond universe that previously did not really exist.
The toys and effects in QoS are great, and do not distract from the movie at all, most are very believable or might even exist in the next few years. The story is a good continuation and at the end the first thing I wanted to know is when is the next one coming out.
