Unique, true to the comic books and loads of fun from beginning to end. I'm not sure I'll look back in 6 months and proclaim this movie "best of the year" but it was just so enjoyable it's hard to say a bad word about it. The casting was so spot on - every "evil ex" is funnier than the last. Major props to Chis Evans, Brandon Routh, and Jason Schwartzmann for doing something out of their normal elements. I hate to admit that Michael Cera may have been the weakest part of the film. Don't get me wrong, I love MC, and he plays the affable awkward guy great, but the supporting cast was just THAT GOOD. Mary Elizabeth Winstead was beautiful & hilarious. Kudos to Edgar Wright for his first Simon Pegg-less success!
Has the most book-to-film changes of all HP films so far, but they all work well. Overall a stronger film than Order of the Phoenix. Looked spectacular in IMAX - something about the large, lavish sets - Almost like this was made for IMAX. I think there could have been more in 3-D though. Quittich in 3-D would have been awesome. But a strong film, and a great set-up for the big finish. The young actors have really come a long way since Sorcerer's Stone and their abilities have improved dramatically. The older British cast has always been wonderful, and Jim Broadbent as Slughorn is a delightful addition. This movie really belongs to Michael Gambon as Dumbledore though. Can we say Best Supporting Actor?
