I've read all the books, heard all the books on tape, seen all the movies so far...this adaptation of the last HP book has been excellent - of course, the novels are so good that we would like to see everything put to film, but this was outstanding. That being said, I would have loved to see Dudley say goodbye to Harry, and some part of Harry's birthday celebration, I do not generally like the insertions of material that were not included in the books (the Half-Blood Prince was ruined by this); however, the most touching scenes of the movie included Hermione performing a memory charm on her parents, the way in which Hedwig was killed, and most of all, the dance scene with Harry and Hermione in the tent. The feelings expressed (overtly and not-so-overtly) in and between each of the characters is amazing - you can actually feel their emotions and witness the depth of their character development. The actors are brilliant in their roles, and they continue to show us the evolution of the characters, and the actual filming in darker tones accurately reflects the inherent danger of the task they are undertaking. If you only see one movie this season - let it be the Deathly Hallows - Part 1.
