Great Effects, So-So Story

This is mindless entertainment in the best sense of both words. You won't be bored and you will be enraptured by the 3-D and action, some of the best ever but the story is as predictable and vapid as any running movie. Remember Logan's Run? If only the people making this movie had as much fun making the dialogue and characters in this movie. They take themselves so seriously. Hey, guys, this is DISNEY! Lighten up!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

The film meets it's very high expectations, is a faithful rendering of the book, is technically dynamic and leaves little out. However, it suffers from sequences that were filmed for 3D (which was not used), and the need to cut off the film in mid-book, without resolution leaves one leaving unfulfilled. From a personal standpoint, why can't we see more of the who's who of British acting greats who are relegated to 3 line cameos?
Yes, I recommend this movie.
