I was horrified at the thought that a nation could institute cloning people to donate organs, but then I dismissed this as a possibility. I could not imagine what would lead a nation to look into the eyes of someone exactly like their own citizens and treat them as lab rats. Once I decided to take this view, I allowed myself to take in the love story and the message about "completion." The last line was powerful, that we all need to immerse ourselves in love knowing that we all feel our life ends too early. But I must say the passivity of the "replica's" bothered me. I felt like I was watching prisoners in a concentration camp with no fences. This movie was perfectly cast and the old look of everything fitting to the message of the story - worn, tired, like Miss Havisham in Great Expectations, a country that was in moral decay in its attempt to prevent the decay of the flesh.
