I was in my early 20's when Secretariat was racing and I remember cheering and praying he would win all races, then going crazy watching him win the Triple Crown. However, I had forgotten how truly "spectacular" that winning event was. Secretariat was the underdog, owned by a woman, who was a housewife--all marks against him--not to mention many felt he was too big to be a truly great racer. Watching this movie brought it all back--and all the exciting, great feelings with it! I agree with the jockey who rode him who said in an interview--(paraphrase) "God decided to create the perfect horse" -- He did indeed!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
