I was thankful that the movie stayed pretty true to the book and the acting was superb (esp. Ralph Fiennes as Voldemort and Alan Rickman as Snape). HOWEVER, it is definitely not for young children- much darker than the rest with several nightmare-inducing scenes for sensitive kids. I'll never get why some parents drag their 2-7 year olds to movies that are too intense for them just because the parents want to see it and can't get a sitter! There were several little ones (including someone with a crying baby-grr!) when we went and one little girl was hiding her head in her mom's lap the whole time. Also, if you haven't read the books or kept up with the previous HP movies you will be very confused. I loved the crucial Snape tears scene and the ending was exactly as the book.
The darkest, most complex and visually stunning super hero movie ever; this latest Batman adventure is a thrill ride that doesn't let up until the ending credits! We walked out of the theater shaking our heads in disbelief at Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker. He doesn't just play the Joker- he BECOMES him. Christian Bale also does an excellent job playing the fallible, conflicted superhero struggling with protecting a city overidden with mobs, crime and batman-wannabe vigilantes. The cinematography is simply breath-taking. The Hong Kong sequence is especially stunning - it will knock your socks off! I recommend seeing it in IMAX format if at all possible- it is definitely worth the extra few bucks. Take my word for it!
...due to Ironman! This movie works on so many levels- superb action scenes, amazing special effects, intriguing storyline...and then, of course, there is Robert Downey Jr.. Suffice it to say that this movie would not have been even half as good if anyone else played the part of Tony Stark. Robert Downey Jr. IS Ironman! I heartily recommend it!
