I thought this film was amazing!
Even though book and play were presented a very long time ago. The issues/events are things that exist today and it would not be surprising if every woman could relate to at least a minimum of the situations.
The cast is fabulous. Any African American female that is in the film business and of current exposure is in the film.
Off the top of my head I would think Alfre Woodward is the only artist missing when you think of current actresses of color.
Tyler Perry has stepped up a ton of steps with this directors delivery.
Tight...well edited...well done.
An event for sure.
A must see.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

What a ride! Loved every moment of it.
Thank goodness I knew that Secretariat did in fact win or I would not have been able to stay in my seat.
The cast was wonderful! Diane Lane - Great...
John Malkovich - amazing..."Ms. Hamm" warm and wonderful..."Big Red" had eyes that made you feel as if you were commumicating with him!
The music was wonderful...thought it was a
Hans Zimmer score with wonderful touches of Mavis Staples and other music of the time!
I am not easy to be brought to tears...but could not hold them back ....moments of happiness and sadness.
I see nominations for the Oscar!!!
Simply wonderful.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
