This was an endearing story about how there can be redemption of even people that can be perceived as bad, and sometimes it takes a child to break down the walls.
I enjoyed this movie thoroughly, especially in light of the majority of movies that are being produced. I must admit that it brought a few tears to my eyes.
One thing about which I had to laugh was that Gru had a Russian accent, and his mother had a Jewish accent. Go figure!
All in all, a few hours well spent.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I am shocked at the disparity of ratings...the younger audiences by and large seemed to love it. That shows me that we have so innoculated this generation that they could actually enjoy such gratuitous violence.
I could not get past the beheading of Machete's wife. I had to leave, and nothing else could have made think that this "dog" of a movie was in any way socially redeeming.
I fear for the path that our country has taken. Will we ever see a return to civility and a hatred for things that are evil? I hope so. May God help us!
