Yes, I agree this is a very disjointed movie. The many flashbacks integrated with the different character threads make it that way. Plus the fact that the movie gives you no explanations why like the book does. However, that said, the performance of Gary Oldman was extremely good and several of the supporting actors were superb. I also thought the cinematography was well done. Great cast, well worth the money and time. Many viewers in my theater were talking about it being difficult to follow as we were walking out. Be prepared for that, but enjoy the great performances.
First of all, the cinematography was well done. I wasn't going to go see this because it is a remake and I really enjoyed the first trilogy, but now I am glad I did. The actress Rooney Mara is wonderful, at least as good as Noomi Rapace was in this role. The story line is different in this version than the original one, which is in some ways good and in others bad. Did not delve into the story as deeply as the original did, but was much more convincing with the research that Daniel Craig did for example. As I said, bad and good. Overall, very entertaining and rapidly paced(more than the original) story line which will probably bring more people to appreciate Larssen's trilogy.
The 3D wasn't that great, but pretty good. The movie itself was interesting but had a lot of slow spots in it and a really corny ending. Overall, more entertaining than I thought it would be tho. You should see it
saw this in ETX, not in Imax, but still was great. Really liked the story line this time and the actors were great including Pegg. Cruise was actually likeable in this one, especially after the last scene. The building climbing scenes are superb. You could actually take a date to this movie and not be bored! I thought the cinematography was well done and the music also. Worth the extra money to see it the best way you can!
I agree and enjoyed the look of the cinematography. Looked right for period. Other things did not, like some of the guns, but hey its a fantasy movie right? I personally like the slo-mo scenes where Holmes is thinking ahead. Others don't. Jude Law was superb as usual. Rachel and Naomi are both good, I think Naomi is better. Overall, liked the movie, and didn't mind the inflated price for such good entertainment.
I thought it was a great story(true story), probably better as a book where they can flesh out some details, but well done this way. The stars did well, Action was intense, but only in bursts.Otherwise somewhat slow plot development. Worth the money for sure, but not the blockbuster some were expecting. I liked the story.
This was a very entertaining show. Piss poor use of 3D...not worth the extra money for that. Would have been better in something like ETX. Was a good movie, not related to the tale of Conan at all. This was sooooo diffferent from the original Conan with Arnold. I kinda liked the darkness of the Conan character, but the story....where the hell did they get that from? Wish they would have stuck with the original story and done a remake of that. Would have been better.
This movie was better than expected. I think due to the very good acting. The characters were well played and likeable. The aliens were a little cheesy but he concept came across. I enjoyed the mix of 2 different styles of movies. This film was very appealing and even better if you can see in the enhanced ETX version. Steven Spielberg does some nice effects for the movie.
Seems like these type of movies are getting better lately. I liked Thor and now this Captain America is also very well done. This movie has great sets and the acting is very good. Of course, there is LOTS of CGI, but well done in my perspective. I also have to take a moment to mention the villain Red Skull who was well acted and the makeup/mask was nicely portrayed. Overall, I enjoyed it greatly and I think most people will. Plus it sets us up for a GREAT Avengers movie.
This was absolutely the best of the 3 Transformer movies. Was done on a much grander scale than the other 2. Not as many funny moments in this one as the others, mostly wall to wall action. This was well done in 3D. The ambush scene with Shockwave was awesome. Oh and the guy who was trying to fire the rocket wasn't scared by the way. The building was collapsing under him and he didn't have sure footing, that is why he couldn't fire the rocket. I think it was an awesome movie. Nice cinematography. and I love the aerial portions too.
