This is a quirky drama set in the bayou, south of the levee. It happens that Katrina hits the community - but it is the community that is the story, and it's a good one. I'm a fan of magical realism, and was a bit disappointed with that aspect, which had been played up quite a bit in reviews I'd seen or heard (or perhaps I'd just paid particular attention to such reviews). So, having expectations that weren't fulfilled, I was a bit disappointed by the end of the film. And then, overnight, I realized what a good film this was. It grows on you.
