I don't really like Julia Roberts, so I wasn't excited to see this movie. I found, however, that I did enjoy her character in Rome. I hated the whole India part of the movie. I've never been there and don't think I want to go there after watching the movie. I think her journey there, at least in the movie (didn't read the book) was pointless! Bali was beautiful and Javier, sexy! Julia's character did seem a bit dimwitted, to me, because she didn't know what to do until the medicine man told her what to do, and the movie was typically Hollywood preachy with Julia telling us what she learned in life-gag me! If you don't think too hard and go just for entertainment value, it's worth it.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
