Julia Roberts always a pleasure to watch. The movie didn't have as much substance or emotion as the book. The heart and soul briefly recognized. In the book, you could relate with Liz on so many levels. She is a very 3 dimensional individual, though in the movie not so much. The movie is a brief summary, not delving into many of the significant faucets of her life. Some of the more meaningful characters and their stories were pushed aside, which took away from the value of the story in whole. I believe the acting was very good, though a limited portrayal of Liz, no fault of the actors. Camera’s, were too focused on headshots, in many scenes. The main focus of the book was about a journey of life and finding ones self through some type of religion or another (spiritual being); the movie focused on one individual, and touched on the love story. Though I feel the movie is well worth watching, read the book after the movie and you will fill in some of the lost valuable pieces.
