While I expected to like this movie, it exceeded my expectations by quite a bit. I think this is destined to be one of the Disney classics on par with Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Better Than I Thought It Would Be

I am not a huge Michael Jackson fan, but do like some of his songs and videos. And I like movies with music in them in general and because of the other reviews I thought I would give This Is It a shot. Especially given what they had to work with, this was put together very well. I thought it was better than just a straight concert movie would be because of the behind-the-scenes footage. If you like his music at all, I think you will like this movie.
This was a forgetable movie about characters that I didn't care that much about. Others have compared it to Forrest Gump, but it doesn't even come close in my book. Time period music, while used a little, could have been used much more. The plot could have had more significant events instead of the so ordinary. And the aging wasn't logical to me--he starts out as small as a baby and ends up the same way? Anyway, this is just an average movie that I won't hardly remember a few months from now.
While my daughter and I liked this movie quite a bit, my wife who never has really gotten into the cgi animated films didn't enjoy it as much. She felt it moved a little too slowly for her taste during the first half of the movie. I thought it did a very good job of establishing the characters and what they were about but you had to notice the details of which there were a lot--I'm sure I even missed some of the "clues" and might have to see it again sometime to see if there might be more that I can see.
This movie has more social commentary in it than others in the past have. Things like trashing our earth, lack of real social interaction between people, our tendancy to put ourselves in the hands of corporate giants, and our trend of becoming super couch potatoes.
This was a good movie and has that special Pixar magic to it. But I think the bottom line is whether you enjoy this sort of thing or not. If you haven't before, then you probably won't this time either. If you have "gotten it" before in Toy Story or Finding Nemo, then I think you will like Wall-E quite a bit.
This was a good update to the series. It was nice to see Indiana and Marion again doing the stuff that made the initial movie so much fun. I still think The Last Crusade is my favorite of all of them, but this one delivered all that I expected. Thanks, Lucas and Spielberg!
